About

It all began back in 1980 when two Home Economics  teachers, Vera Keller and Joyce Bauer decided it was time that Hoopeston  had its own fabric shop.  We opened the Friday after Thanksgiving as both Vera and Joyce were teaching at the time.  Vera retired from teaching in 1984 and went full time at the shop.  Joyce didn’t retire from teaching  until nine years later in 1993.

Our first shop was on Penn Street in a small building that had housed several businesses before us.  We outgrew the building after 3 years and moved to our present location on Main Street.  We are presently in our 30th year of business.
We discontinued fashion fabrics in 2004 and changed our inventory to concentrate on quilt fabrics and related items.   We have been an authorized Husqvarna  Viking sewing machine dealer since we opened.
