On Saturday, September 14 we will be having our Annual Fall Class Registration and Open House
at the Sewing Boutique. This is when the samples for the classes we are having this fall will be on display
and you will have the opportunity to sign up for the classes you wish to take. You can take off 10 % of any class fees paid on that day. It is a good opportunity to talk to the teachers, check out their samples, chit chat and enjoy some goodies. We will be open from 9:00 to 3:00. Hope to see you there.
Husqvarna Viking Sewing specialist, Gina Hodges, will be at the Sewing Boutique in Hoopeston on Friday, September 27 to present “Toolin’ Around” . You will be able to experience the new Viking Sewing Machines, feet and accessories introduced at the Viking Convention just the week before. You will get a close up front look at the newest addition to the sewing machine line, the Designer Diamond Royale. We are excited to see all it can do. You will be able to see any new hoops, feet and designs that have been introduced at convention. Gina will have a trunk full of inspirational examples to get us excited about using those new feet and accessories.
Session one will be at 9:00 to 12:00 and Session two will be 4:30 to 7:30. Come join us for an exciting session of new “tools”. Call us today. Your $25 registration fee will secure your seat for the event.
We have decided to try something new this year. We are spreading the Shop Hop over the summer months from June 1 to August 31. Passports may be purchased at any of the 8 participating shops for $5. This entitles you to visit each location during the Shop Hop , have your passport validated and enjoy 20% off your purchases. You will need to see each store for details concerning sale items. All completed passports must be turned in to the last shop visited no later than 6:00 PM on Friday, August 31
Our goal is that you will not feel so rushed when you visit all the shops as in the past when we have had 3 days or 5 days. By grouping 2 or 3 shops together per excursion and spreading your excursions over the summer, we hope it will be more fun and much more relaxing.
The grand prize, to be drawn from completed passports, is a Husqvarna Viking H Class 100Q sewing machine. There will be 8 second prizes drawn from completed passports. Each shop will contribute a $25 gift certificate as one of the 8 second prizes.
The theme this year is Still Solid After Seven Years. Each store will create a wall hanging or quilt using the pattern Changing Ways by Marilyn Foreman at Quilt Moments. Each shop will be using Bella Solids from Moda but in whatever color combination they choose. It will be exciting to see the many possibilities from the same pattern. As the projects are finished, the pictures will be posted on the website www.illianashophop.com.
So put your heads together and make your plans for several shop Hop excursions this summer.
