Notes from Vera

We have so many blessings to be thankful for as we bid 2013 farewell.  Joyce is becoming quite proficient in wheeling that walker around and her new knee is going to soon be pain free.  Our year at the Sewing Boutique offered us the opportunity to meet and become friends with many new sewing enthusiasts.  One of my greatest joys is seeing someone “tackle and master” a new technique.

I have been spending a lot of my time working on my new projects for January.  I am doing the Hoop sisters 2014 quilt, Jacobean Journey.  I will have a few blocks for you to see on January 1.  However those doing this quilt will be able to pick their own colors of fabric and threads.

At the September Open House, I had a sample of the Hoop Sisters Bag and many of those attending expressed a desire to do the bag so I hope to have it done by our January 1 Football Widows Open House.  This does use embroidered Blocks.

My third project will be a quilt or wall hanging or bed runner or table runner using the circular attachment and our beautiful decorative stitches on our Vikings.  There is no embroidery involved here only stitches.

We will be doing inventory the last week of December and will have lots of cottons on clearance as we have to make room for all the new fabrics arriving daily.  You can check out these ‘going out the front door’ cottons when you come see us on January 1.
